One of the few Mets I actually like is David Wright. I like the way he plays the game and goes about his business.
But he's also, undeniably, injury prone.
Case in point, Monday. He dove back into the first base bag and broke the pinky finger on his right hand.
He's been cleared to play depending on if he can tolerate the pain. Also, you have figure it will hamper his throwing somewhat even though the pinky doesn't really play much of a role in throwing a baseball.
Question. How does a Major League ballplayer break his pinky diving into a base? Seriously, if you saw the play he dove with his fingers going straight into the bag instead of raised so his palm would hit the bag. Wright can't catch a break but he can get one.
