No matter what happened this weekend, or what happens in April, you can be sure you will hear the same quote by players and managers all throughout baseball. That quote is, "it's early."
Yankees have started out 0-3. So what, "it's early."
The Mets are 3-0. Yeah, good for them. But, "it's early."
A team could start out 0-15 but that's OK. "It's early."
A player starts the year in a 3-30 slump? Not a problem because..."it's early."
Even in May, "it's still early."
I think when June 1st rolls around, universally, the "it's early" line becomes, "there's still a long way to go."
Speaking of early, we'll be broadcasting tomorrow morning at "B's Ballpark Museum" across from Coors Field tomorrow. I've been asked to get there at 5:30 a.m. Now that's early. I'll get there at 6:30 since we go on the air at 7. But if the broadcast doesn't go well, don't worry. It's early.
