Buyer's Remorse?

People were concerned how good Albert Pujols would be when he is in his early 40's after signing his 10-year, 250-million dollar deal with the Angels. Well, instead of worrying about what happens 9 or 10 years down the road, how about now? Pujols, after 19 games, is hitting a Mark Belanger-like .224 with 0 home runs and 4 RBI's. Not exactly what California Anaheim Los Angeles had in mind. Granted it is a small sampling but who could ever have thought that Pujols would get off to such a horrendous start? Is he slipping? Perhaps a bit. He's 32 and his numbers the past few years have gone down slightly. But slippage is bad. Really bad. Again, it's early but at 6-13 the Angels better get crackalackin or they will get buried by the Rangers in the West. Texas already has a 9 game lead on the Halos. 9-games! It is true that you can't win a pennant in April. But it also true you can lose one. The Angels might be playing just for the Wildcard soon...if that. St. Louis a lot of people are smiling.
