Dodgers Sold

My first thought when I heard the Dodgers were sold to a group that includes Magic Johnson for 2-BILLION dollars..."holy crap that's a lot." A lot more than I thought they would be sold for.
My second thought was the Steinbrenner family. If the Dodgers are worth 2-billion, how much are the Yankees worth.
The Steinbrenner's had to be going out of their minds when they heard the Dodgers sale price. Not they will sell but if they did, how much could they get? 2.5 billion? 3-billion? Crazy money.
I wonder when the new Dodgers owners start moaning about a new ballpark. Dodger Stadium is 50-years old. Nothing is wrong with it mind you. It's a beautiful ballpark, one of the best in the game. But the new owners will want to make bank on their investment and I'm positive they'll want a new, luxury box centric stadium with all sorts of enticements to draw money out of their fans wallets. And I'm sure they'll want the broke state of California to pay for the new stadium.
Maybe they'll threaten to move back to Brooklyn. New York City doesn't seem to mind building new, unnecessary ballyards.
Speaking of Brooklyn, the Dodgers played in maybe the best ballpark ever, Ebbets Field. Such a beautiful park, just perfect. I wish I could have seen a game there. I'm mesmerized by pictures of it and wish I could go back in time and see the place. Anyway, the Brooklyn Dodgers played 45 seasons in Ebbets Field. This will be season number 51 for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Dodger Stadium.
