Build It

The town of Dyersville, Iowa, where the movie "Field of Dreams" was filmed is debating whether or not to build a $38 million dollar complex of 24 baseball and softball fields that would host big time youth baseball tournaments.
I say yes, build them. I won't say "Build it, they will come," since that is a little "corny" plus it isn't my line anyway.
But why not? We need more baseball fields in this country and fewer golf courses and soccer fields. The more kids playing baseball the better.
Of course it's easy for me to tell the people of Dyersville to build the complex. It's not my money. Always easier to spend other peoples dollars. I just hope the project "goes the distance."
