At the boring Barry Bonds perjury trail, the steroid enhanced former slugger was found guilty of obstruction of justice. The jury couldn't come to a conclusion on three other charges.
Let's be real here. If anyone thinks Bonds didn't take steroids or HGH is a fool. If anyone believes his "I thought it was flaxseed oil" defense is a moron.
The guy used steroids and he lied about it. Who cares what a judge and jury find. We all know that he's disingenuous.
Again, look at his stats. Guys who are 36 years old don't hit 73 home runs and don't get better as they get into their upper 30's. In general, guys are in their baseball prime from the ages of 27-32 and then start to deteriorate in most cases. Unless they're on the juice.
With modern day training techniques and legal supplements and nutrition, guys can extend their primes for little while.
So, getting back to my original point, the Barry Bonds trial is really irrelevant as it pertains to baseball. We all know he used and his records are fraudulent. As far as any right minded baseball person knows, Hank Aaron is still the home run king and not the splenetic liar, Bonds. Bonds was, is and always will be a bum in my book. Hall of Fame? I don't think so.
