Did you see the line for Albert Pujols yesterday?
Pujols went 0-5 and hit into 3 double plays. And he wants 30-million a year?
Obviously it is only one game but it has to be one of Albert's worst games ever. Still, I don't care if he hits 80 homers this year and knocks in 200. I wouldn't pay him that kind of money if I were the Cardinals. After all, you do have to play other players.
The Padres rallied to win, by the way, 5-3 in 11-innings. Last year nobody gave much thought to the Padres and they were heading to the post-season until faltering down the stretch. This year, not too many prognosticators are picking the Padres but I have a feeling they'll be better than advertised again.
